Welcome to the Service Research & Innovation Community (SRIC)!
SRIC is the “go to place” for service research and innovation, brought to you by the founders of the Service Research & Innovation initiative (SRII), a joint venture between SSPA, TPSA, IBM and Oracle. We appreciate your interest in the initiative and look forward to having you participate in the online community.
We hope you’ll agree that the SRIC is an effective forum for easily locating the content, resources and people that are advancing services innovation.
Use SRIC for:- Accessing and posting content on services innovation
- Connecting and meeting with service research and innovation seekers and solvers
- Collaborating with others on topics of shared interest
- Learning about government funding opportunities, academic programs and curriculum
- Discovering services-related events
Before we get started with the basics of the forums, please familiarize yourself with the message board principles below. If you've never been on a message board before it is highly recommend you read this information. Once you've done this, you're ready to begin.
The Forums and their Organization
The forums are organized into 4 major categories. Each category has its own boards where you can discuss topics related to that genre, post or browse content, connect with people, discover or point out programs and events, and more. When deciding where to place a post, you should first look for the most relevant category. Then, use the most appropriate board for your interests.
Service Research & Innovation Community Principles
SRIC provides these forums as a place for all those interested in the future of services to share ideas, experiences, and solutions. Like any community, they are most valuable when everyone shares a basic set of principles and goals. By registering, you agree to observe these principles so that the forums are a productive and positive place for all participants.
- Share what you know. The first principle is: participate! Many of us have deep expertise in specific areas of customer support and services, and all of us have unique experiences to share. We can’t fully exploit the power of our network unless all of us share what we know. So bring your knowledge to the table! If everyone "lurks," the community falls apart and we've missed a great opportunity.
- Don’t violate laws or confidentiality. Remember that SRIC is a public space, available to all who want to read or participate. For that reason, as you share your experience take care to avoid disclosing anything that is confidential to your organization, your customers, or your partners. As in any public forum, you should also avoid posting any material that would infringe on any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other proprietary rights of any party.
- Keep it commercial-free. Feel free to use your profile page to share your title, organization, and any relevant affiliations. However, in your contributions to the community, avoid any content that might be interpreted as a promotional or a solicitation.
- Be conscious of the nature of the information on these forums. This future-oriented nature of these forums means that participants will be sharing ideas that may speculative or untested. That's a good thing! Participants are responsible for how they use the information they find here.
- Keep it courteous. It goes without saying that respect for others is a necessary condition for a productive dialogue.
Thank you for your interest and time in the SRII and the online community. We know that in order for this community to be successful in providing you with key resources (content & people) we need everyone to get involved. Therefore, if you find value, we would ask that you encourage other service stakeholders to get involved as well.
From time to time, SRIC staff may review community content to ensure these principles are observed. Feedback? Other ideas to share? Please let us know in the Feedback forum.
